City roads projects slated for completion this week

The City of Sequim Public Works Department tentatively plans to complete two large road improvement projects, on North Seventh Avenue and the intersection of Sequim Avenue and Washington Street,  by the end of the week.

On North Seventh Avenue, contractors placed new asphalt from Washington Street to Fir Street. Bicycle lanes were included with the project.

At the intersection of South Sequim Avenue and Washington Street, repair work to replace aging pipelines and damaged asphalt nears completion. The city installed a traffic detection camera to replace underground sensors to better detect traffic and decrease wait time. The camera doesn’t record or detect speed.

Decorative sidewalks on South Sequim Avenue are slated for completion by the end of the month depending on weather and the delivery date of the materials.
