‘Clallam Connect’ service vehicles premier

The Clallam Transit System recently took receipt of 10 units to replace the well-used model year 2002-2006 diesel buses that have been used to provide the system’s accessible paratransit service.

The new vehicles are V-10 powered with clean-burning and economical liquid propane gas, transit officials say.

The Star Trans model buses, configured with a E-450 Ford chassis, were purchased from Creative Bus Sales in Mukilteo using federal capital granT funding with a 20 percent funding obligation by CTS.

This now brings the CTS fleet to 28 propane-powered vehicles in turn satisfying the system’s commitment to selecting alternative fuels.

In addition to putting the new buses in service, CTS has established its new identify for the paratransit fleet as “Clallam Connect” to serve as the system’s own unique designation for its accessible paratransit transportation division.
