Members of the League of Women Voters of Clallam County are taking in National Voter Registration Day, a nation-wide, non-partisan effort, to register hundreds of thousands of voters.
From 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, league members will be at the Sequim Walmart, 1110 W. Washington St., to assist voters who want to register or update their registration if they have moved.
League members will also be at the Port Angeles Walmart, (3411 E. Kolonels Way), to assist voters from noon-6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 26.
“Every year millions of Americans find themselves unable to vote because they miss a registration deadline, don’t update their registration, or aren’t sure how to register,” said Linda Benson, President of the Clallam County League of Women Voters. “National Voter Registration Day seeks to help eligible voters across the country participate in our democratic process. We want to make sure everybody who wants the opportunity to vote on November 7 has their registration up-to-date.”
Those who cannot make the event can register or update their address/name online through Oct. 9 at weiapplets.sos.wa.gov/MyVote with a current Washington State driver license or ID card.
The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan organization, is one of the nation’s largest and most longstanding community based voter registration groups. Learn more about the work of the League of Women Voters Clallam County at lwvcla.org.
