Sheriff Bill Benedict swore in a new corrections deputy Sept. 12.

Kimo Velleses is the newest corrections deputy at the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office.

Velleses is 31 years old, married to his spouse Susana for 10 years, and has a 2½-year-old son named Carson. He previously served in the U.S. Navy on active duty for nearly 10 years, before transferring to the Army National Guard on reserve status.

Velleses was born in Port Angeles, before moving to Hawaii for the majority of his childhood. He is also pursuing a bachelor’s degree in psychology at Columbia College.

Velleses said he is proud and excited to start his new job as a Clallam County corrections deputy and looks forward to making it a long and rewarding career.
