Clallam Transit hosts open house to detail Sequim route changes

The Clallam Transit System has scheduled two community open houses in July to present and discus proposed changes to the transit’s No. 40 (Sequim Shuttle) service.

Transit staffers have several concepts ready to present that aim to make the bus service more attractive to residents and improve ridership, according to a transit press release.

The open houses are scheduled for 2-6 p.m. Thursday, July 11, and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday, July 18, both in the conference room at the Sequim Transit Center, 190 W. Cedar St.

Copies of the service enhancement ideas will be presented at the open houses. Those who are unable to attend an open house may receive a copy of the concepts by calling Clallam Transit (452-4511 or 800-858-3747, ext. 3) or at the system’s website (www.clallamtransit.com) when they become available.

Transit staff will take verbal and written comments from the public at the open houses for board consideration, officials said.

In addition, transit staff will assist those interested in regional reduced fare permits program ID cards. All disabled and senior riders will need a card in order to purchase reduced monthly bus passes or to pay a discounted cash fare on fixed-route and dial-a-ride buses beginning later in the year.
