The Summer Youth Pass program is again available for public transit travel during the summer months.
All youths (ages 6-19) can travel throughout the county on regular fixed-route and dial-a-ride Clallam Transit buses for $20; The pass is good for travel the entire summer, from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
Fixed-route bus travel opportunities continue to be expanded around the Olympic Peninsula with Jefferson Transit, Mason County Transit and Grays Harbor Transit. All honor each other’s summer youth programs on their fixed-route services as well.
This is the last year of a three-year cooperative agreement among the public transit systems to coordinate travel on the peninsula for young people.
Regular youth base fare passes cost $18 per month. Youth premium fare passes cost $36 per month.
The Summer Youth Pass is designed to encourage more youth ridership on system buses and to respond to requests for a discounted summer pass for young people. The pass was developed to take some of the pressure off busy parents who otherwise would shuttle their young people to summer activities.
Summer Youth Passes can be purchased now through pass outlets in Sequim, Port Angeles, Forks and at the Clallam Transit System office. The passes also are available through the mail.
For more information or to order a pass, call the Clallam Transit System at 452-1315 or toll-free, 800-858-3747.
