The United Way of Clallam County announces it has hired Donald Skinner as its new chief executive officer.

Skinner has extensive experience in administration, community building, organizational development and public affairs.

His past work includes the Oregon Pacific Area Health Education Center where he was the executive director, and the Pacific Communities Health District Foundation and North Lincoln Hospital Foundation.

Skinner has a proven record in fundraising, United Way officials said, and excels at grant writing. While he was with Oregon Pacific Area Health Education Center, he generated more than $5 million in grant funding.

During his time at Pacific Communities Health District Foundation, Skinner provided event supervision and support for major fundraising activities including securing $60,000 in grants and coordinating events that generated $75,000.

“Donald’s skills in management, fundraising, marketing and public relations will make him an excellent leader for our local United Way,” said George Eastman, board president.

The United Way also recently elected Eastman of Neah Bay as board president and Port Angeles-based board members Corey Delikat as vice president and Grant Munro as treasurer.
