College ESL, GED classes start Monday

Peninsula College instructors start their Sequim-based spring quarter English as a Second Language and General Educational Development classes on Monday, March 23.

Classes are in Room 7E at Sequim Community School, 220 W. Alder St.

English as a Second Language classes will be offered Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 1-3:30 p.m. and evenings from 5-8 p.m. Classes include practice in reading, writing, speaking, listening, pronunciation and interaction skills in small group settings.

General Educational Development test preparation classes are offered four mornings a week – Monday through Thursday – from 8-11:30 a.m. One-on-one and small group instruction in test preparation, assistance in practice testing for the examination and help in transitioning to college classes for those who wish to pursue their educations are provided. Independent study options also are available.

Community residents who have their high school diploma but wish to improve their skills in reading, writing and math in order to prepare for the job market or a return to school also are welcome. Instruction will be tailored to individual needs.

All of the classes are open-entry, meaning a student may enroll at any time during the quarter.
