KSQM takes over Arby’s today
KSQM 91.5 radio, Sequim, will “take over” Arby’s restaurant, 540 W. Washington St.,
Sequim, from 5-8 p.m., today, March 23.
KSQM will receive 50 percent of the proceeds made during the takeover. No coupons or discounts will be accepted during the event.

Forum on biomass cogeneration set
A three-speaker forum and question period on the use of biomass in the generation of electricity are set for 7-9:15 p.m. Monday, March 28, at the Port Townsend Community Center, 620 Tyler St. Larry Bonar, Bill Wise and Diana Somerville will present a history of biomass and its pros and cons. A follow-up discussion is set for Wednesday, April 6.
Earth Hour observance is Saturday
Earth Hour is set for 8:30 p.m. Saturday, March 26. The event calls for participants to switch off the lights for an hour and consider what changes in daily life could benefit the planet.
Explorers walk planned
The Olympic Peninsula Explorers gather for a club walk at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 26, at Wild Birds Unlimited, U.S. Highway 101, Gardiner. The 5- or 10- kilometer troll stroll in Gardiner includes trolls carved into the buildings and fence posts of Troll Haven.
Wheelchairs are not advised and the walk is difficult with strollers. A carpool meets in Sequim at 8:30 a.m. Call 360-385-5861.
Meetings on trust lands exchange set
The state Department of Natural Resources hosts a meeting for the public to learn and ask questions about a proposed exchange of state trust lands with the Green Crow timber company. It is at 6 p.m. Monday, March 28, at the Port Angeles High School student center, 304 E. Park Ave., Port Angeles.

Dinner and dance benefit Shane Park
The Shane Park Playground Pasta Bar Dinner and Dance is at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 26, at the Port Angeles Elks Lodge, 131 E. First St., to raise funds for new playground equipment at Shane Park. The event includes a silent auction, raffles and door prizes.

Talk with the animals
Marie-Claire Bernards, animal communicator educator, offers her introductory class, “Animal Communication Basics,” at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 2, at Best Friend Nutrition, 680 W. Washington St., Suite B102, Sequim.
The $25 fee is donated to animals in need at shelters and organizations on the Olympic Peninsula.

Snap classes and camp registering
Registration is open for spring classes and a camp offered by Snap, a private nonprofit serving people with developmental disabilities and their families. Sequim and Port Angeles classes for adults with developmental disabilities include art, mariners, drumming, bowling, positive work habits, recreation club, theater, and sailing on the Adventuress. Gateway raises more than $21,000
The Gateway, the second annual fundraiser sponsored by the Promise of Hope Foundation on March 19, raised more than $21,000. Proceeds will be shared between the Promise of Hope Foundation and the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Olympic Peninsula.
