Hood Canal

bridge work

Drivers can expect eight hours of single-lane closures this week on Highway 104’s Hood Canal bridge when Washington State Department of Transportation contractors conduct roadway profiling in the east- and westbound lanes.

The survey work, during which crews will evaluate the east-half roadway surface, is scheduled between 8 p.m. Thursday, July 30, and approximately 4 a.m. Friday, July 31.

Crews will close the westbound lane and eastbound lane for about four hours each. During each lane closure, flaggers will direct one-way, alternating traffic past the work zone.

WSDOT replaced the Hood Canal bridge’s east half and east and west trusses June 3, but the project is scheduled to continue through December as crews make final connections to new east-half anchors, complete electrical upgrades, and make final adjustments.
