Water forums continue
League of Women Voters of Clallam County sponsors the second of a series of forums on water issues in the Dungeness watershed from 7-8:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 525 N. Fifth Ave., Sequim.
Speakers include Joe Holtrop of the Clallam Conservation District, Janet Nazy of the Partnership for Water Conservation, and Dave Nazy, hydrogeologist with the Washington Department of Ecology.
At least 30 minutes for questions and answers is scheduled. The event also includes informational tables and displays.
Free public health forum on drugs, herbs and supplements
Retired registered pharmacist Deta Stem presents a free public forum, "Drugs, Herbs and Supplements: Interactions That Can Rock Your World," during the October Wellness Forum sponsored by the Dungeness Valley Health & Wellness Clinic.
The forum is at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, at Sequim’s Olympic Medical Services Building, 840 N. Fifth Ave., in the second-floor conference room.

Stunt seminar offered at casino

Idie Ulsh, past president of Seattle Audubon, presents "Feathered Architects: The Fascinating World of Bird Nests" at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, at the Dungeness River Audubon Center at Railroad Bridge Park, 2151 W. Hendrickson Road.
From eagles to hummingbirds, Ulsh explores how and where birds make nests and relates interesting facts about their construction.
The meeting, sponsored by the Olympic Peninsula Audubon Society, is free and open to the public.

Annual harvest dinner set
The 119th annual Harvest Dinner, believed to be the oldest continuing social event in the Dungeness Valley, is slated for 5-6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 Blake Ave., Sequim.
Pianists perform live music to accompany the dinner, which includes Swiss steak, potatoes and gravy, a vegetable, coleslaw, rolls, dessert and beverages.
Tickets are $12 for adults and $5 for children age 10 and under and available at the door, or in advance at the church office or Sound Community Bank in Sequim.
Proceeds go to the church budget, which supports various community programs.

Airport adds web cam
Officials at Sequim Valley Airport announced a new web cam last week.
The view looks south across the ramp with aircraft, a windsock and the Olympic Mountains in the background.
The camera updates every 10 minutes with a time-lapse addition.
The web cam assists pilots, travelers and the public in viewing current weather and wind conditions. This will be a big asset to pilots who are flying to Sequim and the community.

Cancer Survivorship Fair
Olympic Medical Cancer Center joins several organizations serving cancer patients in the Puget Sound region to sponsor the West/South Sound Cancer Survivorship Fair 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, at Harmony Hill Retreat Center in Union.
The fair offers presentations and workshops for cancer patients and survivors and their immediate caregivers.
The event is free but registration is required.
A shuttle will be available from Olympic Medical’s Thomas Family Cancer Center in Sequim.

Senior fitness screenings
Olympic Medical Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation offers a senior fitness test screening twice in October.
A screening will be held 1-3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, at the Wendel Room in the lower level conference area at Olympic Medical Center, 939 Caroline St., Port Angeles.
It also will be offered 2:30-4:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, in the Medical Services Building Conference Room, 840 N. Fifth Ave., Sequim.
