Wear & Share event
Clothing for men, women and children will be available for free at the annual Wear & Share event set for Friday and Saturday, Aug. 22-23 at the Cultural Hall at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 815 W. Washington St.
Clothing items are new or gently used and include coats, shoes and accessories. Bring your own bags to fill.
Friday hours are 6-8 p.m. and Saturday hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Anyone intending to use the items for anything other than personal use are asked to attend after noon on Saturday.
Dems plan Roosevelt lunch
The Clallam County Democrats will host its Roosevelt Luncheon on Saturday, Sept. 6 in the Club 7 room at 7 Cedars casino, 270756 US-101. The Roosevelt Luncheon is the seminal event of the year for all Democrats and friends of the Democratic Party.
This year’s event will include a silent auction, buffet lunch, guest speakers and elected officials.
A silent auction and meet-and-greet will take place in the Blyn Bay Room with U.S. Rep. Emily Randall as a special guest.

From 12:15 p.m. to 2 p.m. a program and lunch will take place in the Club 7 room.
Tickets are $60 and can be purchased at the Clallam Democrats headquarters at 124-A First Street in Port Angeles. Checks made out to the Clallam County Democrats can be mailed to Clallam County Democrats at P.O. Box 2454, Port Angeles 98362.

Money raised helps Democrats fund initiatives that include organizing precincts, supporting candidates and engaging new voters.
Help for veterans
The Disabled American Veterans Chapter 5 office located at the Sequim Museum administration building, 544 N. Sequim Ave., is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Wednesday to serve veterans with claims and information. Veterans do not have to be a member of the DAV to receive assistance.

Faith news
Joseph Bednarik, a druid who helped change state law to allow “green burials,” will present “The Druid’s Final Resting Place” when he speaks at Olympic Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 1033 N. Barr Road, at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 24.
Bednarik recently retired as co-publisher of Copper Canyon Press. He speaks regularly at Unitarian Universalist congregations in the Salish Sea region, and a collection of his Sunday morning talks, “Invited to Speak,” was just published.
One can attend the service either in-person or via Zoom.
