Thrift shop sets three-day sale

The Sequim Dungeness Hospital Guild Thrift Shop at 204 W. Bell St. hosts a three-day sale, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. daily, Aug. 5-7.

All green tag items are half off. Inventory includes lamps, ladies handbags, clothing, accent furniture, linens and kitchenware.

All proceeds go to help fund health care needs in the community.

New and gently used items are accepted for donation from 10 a.m.- 1 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays, and when the shop is open.

Clallam County health announces upgrade to shellfish harvesting

Dungeness Bay is open to all species for recreational shellfish harvesting, county officials said on July 30.

The Clallam County Department of Health and Human Services’ Environmental Health Division posted the upgrade announcement

Shellfish harvesting is also open to all species in the Strait of Juan de Fuca from Low Point/Lyre River east to Dungeness Spit, and from the Dungeness Spit east to Discovery Bay/Jefferson County line.

Shellfish harvesting is closed in Discovery Bay and at ocean beaches, while Sequim Bay is closed to butter and varnish clams.
