Geological group to meet
Quimper Geological Society welcomes back David B. Williams, author, naturalist, and tour guide, when it meets at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6 at First Baptist Church, 1202 Lawrence St. in Port Townsend. Doors open at 3:30 p.m.
Carol Serdar Tepper will interview Williams about his two new books: “Seattle Walks” and “Wild in Seattle.” Williams will discuss how urban dwellers can get to know their city better by getting outside, walking, observing, and paying attention. He will share some of his adventures, including birding at 60 mph, the pleasures and discoveries to be made by going back to the same location repeatedly, and how to date an 1,100-year-old earthquake.
Williams will have books available to purchase before and after the lecture.
