Foodbank service reset

The monthly Sequim Masonic Foodbank that was cancelled on Jan. 16 because of the winter storm has been rescheduled for Thursday, Jan. 23, at Sequim Masonic Lodge, 700 S. Fifth Ave. Food will be distributed between 7-8:30 a.m.

Free dinner at Trinity United

A free community dinner will be served at 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 S. Blake Ave.

The meal includes meatballs, mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetables, green salad, dessert and beverages.

The church presents the dinners on the last Thursday of each month.

Reservations are required and may be made by calling the church at 360-683-5367 between 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on the Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday before the dinner or by email to dinnerstumc@aol.com.

Fire District sets special meeting

The board of commissioners for Fire District 3 (Sequim) will hold a special board meeting at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 30, at the district headquarters at 323 N. Fifth Ave. The meeting is a board workshop to discuss the districts’ vehicle maintenance and replacement program.

Caregives class to start in February

“Powerful Tools for Caregivers,” a class that helps those who care for a loved one also take care of themselves, starts Feb. 4 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 S. Blake Ave. The class meets from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on six Tuesdays, ending March 10.

Topics include how the caregiver can reduce personal stress, deal with emotions, solve problems, communicate effectively with other family members, make difficult decisions and use community services. The class does not focus on hands-on care for the care receiver.

The only cost is $30 for the textbook.
