Library board moves meeting site

Due to the sudden death of NOLS Board of Trustees member Robert Streett, the North Olympic Library System is relocating its meeting on Thursday, July 27, from the Clallam Bay Library to the Sequim Library, at 630 N. Sequim Ave.

Class on Medicare set for Aug. 3 in PA

Turning 65? SHIBA volunteers from Senior Information and Assistance, sponsored by the Office of the Insurance Commissioner, are presenting a free class on all aspects of Medicare coverage from 10-11:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, at the Port Angeles Senior Center, 328 E. Seventh St.

Sequim Lions Club is open to new members

Free airplane rides for youths set for Aug. 12

The Young Eagles program offers free airplane rides for youths of ages 8-17 (with parent permission) from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, at the Sequim Valley Airport.

A parent must be present to complete registration.

The program has dedicated nearly 25 years to giving youth their first free ride in an airplane, with the sole mission to introduce and inspire youths in the world of aviation. See www.facebook.com/eaa430youngeagles for more information.

Growth management committee sets meeting

The Clallam County-Sequim-Port Angeles-Forks Growth Management Steering Committee meets at 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, in the Port Angeles City Council chambers, 321 E. Fifth St. The meeting agenda includes a continued review of the 1992 County-wide Planning Policy. Call 417-2277 for more information.

Sequim garden club plans garage sale

The Sequim Prairie Garden Club is sponsoring a fundraiser garage sale from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, July 29, at 211 Robbins Road, Sequim. Tools, kitchen items, furniture, garden art and much more will be available at reasonable prices. Proceeds from the sale will be used for upkeep of the grounds and plants at the four-acre Pioneer Memorial Park at 387 E. Washington St., Sequim.

Senior menu set

Sequim Senior Nutrition Site menus are served at 4:30 p.m. at the Shipley Center, 921 E. Hammond St., on Tuesdays-Fridays. Suggested donation is $5 (60 and over), $8 guest and a 24-hour advance reservation is needed. RSVP to 683-8491. Menus are subject to change.

Thursday, July 27: Mushroom soup, chef salad, garlic bread, ambrosia

Friday, July 28: Spinach salad, spaghetti w/meat sauce, green beans, garlic bread, sherbet

Tuesday, Aug. 1: Green salad, split pea soup, corn beef/Swiss sandwich, apricots

Wednesday, Aug. 2: Coleslaw, pulled pork sandwich, applesauce, berry cobbler.
