Sequim Friends’ library sale set

The Friends of Sequim Library March 2021 book sale is set for 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday, March 13, at Rock Plaza, on the northwest corner of Sequim-Dungeness Way and Old Olympic Highway intersection.

Because of the weather-induced cancellation of the group’s February sale, the Friends are overwhelmed with donations. The group has a healthy selection of books and items in nearly every category, plus a nice set of Great Books and several leather-bound classics.

Masks and social distancing are required.

All proceeds go to fund special library programs and media for children and adults.

Club stocks pond with fish for youth recreation

The Puget Sound Anglers-North Olympic Peninsula Chapter is not hosting an official Kids Fishing Day, a popular local event that sees youths catch fish at a stocked pond just north of Carrie Blake Community Park — with chapter members say the club will continue to stock the find for fishing.

Sherry Anderson of PSANOPC said the club started stocking the pond at the City of Sequim’s Water Reclamation Site on North Blake Avenue on March 8 and will add trout on March 16, March 29, April 5 and April 19.

“We will also plant trout in the fall after the summer warm weather,” she said.

Spring forward

Daylight saving time begins at 2 a.m. local time Sunday, March 14. Please remember to set your clocks ahead one hour.
