City accepting parks board applications

The Sequim City Council is seeking applicants to fill two vacancies on the Parks, Arbor, and Recreation Advisory Board.

This voluntary board meets at 4 p.m. the third Monday of each month. Members advise the Sequim City Council about issues involving City parks and public spaces.

One position is open to residents in the Sequim City limits; the other is open to county residents within the Sequim School District boundaries.

Applications are available at the Sequim Civic Center, 152 W. Cedar St., or online at sequimwa.gov. The positions are open until filled.

CCGS to host ‘I Know Nothing About Genealogy’

The Clallam County Genealogical Society will offer a free “I Know Nothing About Genealogy” class at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, at the Society’s Research Center, 403 E. Eighth St., Port Angeles.

The Clallam County Genealogical Society Research Center is open to the public at no cost from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Tuesday-Friday, and noon-4 p.m. on Saturdays.
