OMC board meets
The Olympic Medical Center’s board of commissioners meet tonight, 6 p.m., March 19, at Linkletter Hall, 939 Caroline St., Port Angeles.
Agenda items include a medical staff report, public comment/public hearing regarding the Sequim School District facilities bond, information about a real estate purchase, an operations and advocacy report and executive session regarding union negotiations.
Anglers host North of Falcon meeting
The North Olympic Peninsula chapter of Puget Sound Anglers hosts a WDFW North of Falcon meeting to discuss the 2014 salmon seasons, from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 20 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 Blake Ave., Sequim. State officials will discuss salmon season dates, catch limits and some new proposals to expand salmon fishing opportunities in 2014, and public input will be taken. See www.psanopc.org.
NAMI to show film
Clallam County NAMI (National Alliance for Mental Illness) organization will show a movie Titled “Call Me Crazy” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 20, at Olympic Medical Center, in the basement at 939 Caroline St., Port Angeles. Serenity House of Clallam County is now accepting emergency food and shelter funding requests. The allocation for Clallam County is $10,050. Nonprofit and governmental agencies that provide or are capable of providing, emergency food and shelter, and are willing and able to comply with federal documentation requirements are encouraged to apply.

City band ‘marches’ on
The Sequim City Band kicks off its 2014 season of free public concerts with “Marches and More — in March” at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 23, at the Sequim High School auditorium, 601 N. Benefit breakfast for Mujeres
Spice up your Sunday morning by treating yourself to a delicious Mexican breakfast with corn tortillas, cheese and scrambled eggs, tomato-chile salsa, black beans and freshly brewed coffee and tea. The fundraiser for the Mujeres de Maiz Opportunity Foundation is 8:30 a.m.-noon Sunday, March 23, at the Sequim Prairie Grange, 290 Macleay Road, Sequim. Tickets at the door are $10.
All proceeds go to educational programs and projects of Mujeres de Maiz Opportunity Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
City’s future topic of talk
The Sequim Dungeness Hospital Guild’s Speaker Series will present Chris Hugo, community development director for Sequim at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, in the community hall of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 525 N. Fifth Ave. in Sequim. Hugo will present an informational talk on land use, housing, urban design and transportation issues facing Sequim in the next 20 years. His presentation is open to the public.
Kindergarten classes open
Mountain View Christian School, a K-8 elementary school, offers and affordable kindergarten program that can make a difference in your child’s education and spiritual development. An open house for kindergarten students and interested parents will be from 9 a.m.-noon Tuesday, March 25.

Learn Masonry history
“The Rich Tapestry of Freemasonry” is the title of a monthly lecture series presented at the Sequim Masonic Lodge, 700 S. Fifth Ave., from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 25. The first is “Hidden Mysteries of King Solomon’s Temple.” Other lectures follow on the fourth Tuesday and commemorate the lodge’s upcoming 100th anniversary.
Bunco afternoon
Chapter IV PEO will host a bunco/silent auction fundraiser at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 510 E. Park Ave., Port Angeles. Desserts and beverages will be served and prizes will be awarded. There is a $10 donation to participate.
All proceeds from the event will benefit women’s education scholarships. The event is open to the public.

Monthly dinner served
A free community dinner is served at 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 Blake Ave.
The meal includes baked ham, sweet potatoes, vegetables, a green salad, desserts and beverages.
Reservations, which are requested to ensure that enough food is prepared, may be made by calling the church at 683-5367 between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on the Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday before the dinner or by e-mail to dinners@sequimtumc.org.
The church presents the dinners on the last Thursday of each month.
Scouts offer lawn aeration
As a fundraiser, Sequim Boy Scout Troop 1498 offers lawn aeration services Saturday-Sunday, April 12-13; cost is $50 for up to 1/4 acre. Owners need not be home for the service but need to have lawns mowed, underground sprinkler heads marked and dog waste picked up. Make checks payable to Boy Scout Troop 1498.

Sequim Senior Nutrition Site menus are served at 4:30 p.m. at Suncrest Village Retirement Apartments, 251 S. Fifth Ave. Suggested donation is $5 (60 and over), $8 guest, and a 24-hour advance reservation is needed. RSVP to 683-8491. Menus are subject to change.
