Gleaning season has begun
Is your fruit dropping? Gardeners are seeing cherries, strawberries and raspberries ready to be picked around town. If you or someone you know has fruit that is not being picked, call the WSU Extension office to have volunteer gleaners pick your fruit, bring it to local food banks and take some home for themselves.
The gleaners pick more than fruit. Think of of the program throughout the season as your farm or garden starts to produce more than you can eat. Don’t be caught contributing to food waste!
To report excess produce or join the gleaners, contact Dan Littlefield at WSU Clallam County Extension, 417-2279 or daniel.littlefield@wsu.edu.
