Coronavirus under attack

The 2019 novel coronavirus — an artists’ interpretation anyway — is under attack in Carlsborg. Bruce Cornett said he recently installed the virus-shaped art piece he and his wife Carol designed and created, as an addition to the original metal sculpture by comic book artist Per Berg. “It was an idea that came to me some weeks back. We asked on the area Facebook forums for artists to take the idea and run with it … none did. So we did it ourselves.” Dave Brasher, owner of High Energy Metals, commissioned Berg in 2012 to plan and piece together the intricate metal man for a display at the custom parts shop on Business Park Loop in Carlsborg. “It seemed like a good fit for the ironwork, which is a remarkable piece,” Cornett said.
