Door decorating contest leads to big turnout

Sequim Middle School students and teachers decked the classroom halls for the annual door decorating contest. First-period students competed for the chance to receive fresh cinnamon rolls and hot cocoa on the morning of Friday, Dec. 17.

Judges based their criteria on creativity, relation to classroom studies and ‘wow-factor.’

Winning classrooms were:

• Sixth-grade hallway: Paul Pinza’s social studies class

• Seventh-grade hallway: Caleb Gentry’s digital media class

• Eighth-grade hallway: Tom Saffold’s drama class

• Hallway: tie, librarian Elizabeth Lawson’s students and Deb Beckett’s eighth-grade science classes.
