Discovery Bay wreck involves PT school bus

Three vehicles were involved in a collision at 8:15 a.m. this morning at milepost 281 in Discovery Bay area.

Washington State Patrol reports a Port Townsend school bus with students, a minivan and a semi-truck collided.  Trooper Nick Macomber said the school bus, which was heading east, stopped to pick up one student.  Five students were aboard the bus.

the driver of the minivan, who was also driving east, stopped behind the bus.  "The driver of the semi couldn’t stop," Macomber said.  The semi truck pushed the van into the bus.

The driver of the minivan sustained minor injuries.  Macomber said she was transported to the hospital.

The students were transported to school by district personnel.

Traffic is being diverted into one alternating lane as of 9:30 a.m.

The bus has been transported to Port Townsend for inspection.
