Washington State Patrol reports Benjamin Macqueen, 27, of Sequim, faces charges of Driving Under the Influence and 3rd Degree Driving while License suspended on Tuesday, July 1, after crashing his car into a truck.

Macqueen was driving south around 9:48 a.m. on U.S. Highway 101 near Discovery Bay in his 1989 Honda Civic when he crossed the centerline and collided into Kenneth Reynolds of Marysville in his 2015 Freightliner Tractor and trailer.

Macqueen was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center with its officials reporting he is in serious condition on Thursday evening. Reynolds was not injured.

The highway was closed for one hour and later partially blocked for 3-and-a-half hours.
