Sequim’s Five Acre School has four new staff members and sees two staffers shift positions for the 2014-2015 school year.

Cally Tauran teaches French to all students in the school’s four multi-age classrooms. She is a graduate of Eastern Washington University, has lived in France and taught preschool through middle-school French in the Seattle area.

Christine Spaulding is returning as a language arts specialist. Her psychology and elementary education degree is from Manhattanville College. She has a certificate in Montessori Teaching and an additional associate’s degree in early childhood education. She has taught in New York, Texas and Washington.

New teaching assistants include Shae Barrett, an alumnus of Five Acre School, and Holly Hatton, who has an associate degree in early childhood education.

Moving positions this year are Lisa Bridge and Lisa Romano, to teaching assistants. Bridge has a bachelor’s degree in anthropology and an master’s degree in international management. Romano has a bachelor’s degree in ecology.

Five Acre School serves students from preschool through eighth grade, with emphases in academics, music, art and outdoor science education.
