The annual celebration is open to the public and is “dedicated to the men and women that protect our communities and nation,” according to event organizers. The Unity of Effort includes tours of first responder equipment and helicopters, personnel from local, state and federal law enforcement, K-9 police dog demonstrations, vendors, musical performances and children’s activities. Money raised is donated to the Special Operation Warrior Foundation, which supports the education of children of wounded and fallen special operations forces. Fort Discovery is a training facility located on Discovery Bay near Sequim, offering firearms courses, private lessons, a recreational shooting range and a store. Submitted photo
