Free legal advice available via clinic on Zoom

The Clallam-Jefferson County Pro Bono Lawyers will present a virtual legal aid clinic, a free program offering legal advice for members of the public from 10 a.m.-noon on Saturday, July 24, via Zoom.

Attorney volunteers will be available to answer legal questions, direct people to local services that might be able to assist them and to explain the legal process to them.

The purpose of this event, organizers say, is to allow local people to address their civil legal issues in one-on-one consultations with volunteer lawyers. Because of the pandemic, consultations will be offered either by phone or by Zoom conference.

In partnership with the Clallam Public Defender’s Office, there will also be consultations available for people who have been impacted by the Blake Decision regarding possession of controlled substance convictions.

Clients must pre-register for this event by calling 360-504-2422 or by emailing to probonolawyers@gmail.com or probonoMary@gmail.com; people are asked to register no later than Friday, July 16. Once registered, additional directions for the event will be provided.

Attendees are also encouraged to have relevant legal documents with them during consultation(s).
