Gazette Web site comments come to print

The Sequim Gazette is taking your Web comments to its print edition.

The Sequim Gazette is taking your Web comments to its print edition.

Staff plans to enter selected comments from the Web site into a new feature — Sticky Notes from the Web — in the Opinion pages.

The idea stems from the Gazette’s efforts to increase communication between its readers.

“Freedom of the press can’t be limited to people who own the press,” says Jim Casey, Gazette editor.

“The Gazette wants to be the free marketplace of opinions, provided they fall within our standards regarding libel, foul language and good taste.”

Each posting will run with the e-mail name of its author. Only comments on published stories will be used; no disconnected rants or raves will be included.

A place to comment is available at the bottom of each news posting.

Comments considered for print publication are subject to editing for content and length.

You can use your Disqus, Facebook, Twitter or Yahoo login to make comments.
