General election candidate forums set

The Clallam County League of Women Voters will sponsor four public forums to help voters prepare for the Nov. 7 election.

Candidates for Port of Port Angeles Commissioner and Fire District 2 Commissioner seats are featured at the first of those forums, set for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.

Sequim hosts candidates for Port of Port Angeles Commissioner and for the Sequim School Board positions at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, at the Sequim Transit Center, 190 W. Cedar St. All other candidates on the ballot have been invited to introduce themselves and stay for a brief reception to speak with voters one-to-one.

The Forks Library hosts a third forum set for 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, with candidates for Forks mayor, Port of Port Angeles and fire district commissioner. The forums will be followed by a reception for all candidates on the ballot, ending at 5 p.m.

The fourth and final forum features Port Angeles City Council candidates, set for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, at the Clallam County Courthouse.

Ballots for the general election will be mailed on Oct. 18 and must be postmarked no later than election day, Tuesday, Nov. 7.

League of Women Voters candidate forums are open to the public, and questions from audience members are always the centerpiece of these events.
