A number of voter registration deadlines are approaching for area residents looking to cast a ballot in the 2017 General Election in November.
Clallam County residents have until Monday, Oct. 9 to register by mail or online, transfer their voter registration from another Washington county or update their current voter registration. Those registering online can do so through MyVote at www.myvote.wa.gov.
Registered voters may also update their voter information through that website or by contacting the Clallam County Elections department at 417-2221 or jmaxion@co.clallam.wa.us.
New Washington state voters have until Monday, Oct. 30, to register in person at the auditor’s office in the Clallam County Courthouse (223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles) to participate in the General Election.
“Voters need to be aware that ballots are not forwarded by the USPS to new or temporary addresses,” Linda Benson, President of the Clallam County League of Women Voters., said. “If you are in doubt, confirm the county has your correct information at MyVote.wa.gov.”
A printed statewide voters’ pamphlet will be mailed to all Washington state residences the week of Oct. 7-14.
A local Online Voters’ Guide is also available on the Clallam County Elections website at www.clallam.net/elections.
Ballots for the 2017 General Election will be mailed to all registered Clallam County voters on Wednesday, Oct. 18. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 7.
