‘Grim Reaper’ to descend on SHS

Sequim High School hosts Grim Reaper, a semiannual event informing youths about the dangers of driving and driving, on May 13-15.

Evergreen Collision will be delivering a wrecked car to the front of the high school campus on Wednesday, May 13, after school lets out.

Several students are pulled momentarily from class on Thursday, May 14. The selected students are put in dark robes and make-up and don’t speak when they return to class. Those students visit a mortuary and cemetery after school that day and spend the night at the Boys & Girls Club with teacher Jennifer Van De Wege. Two students’ families receive official notification of their mock deaths that evening.

At 9:30 a.m. on Friday, May 15, SHS juniors and seniors attend a “Grim Reaper” assembly in the auditorium.
