On Oct. 9, guilds from Clallam and Jefferson Counties gathered at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church for the Annual Regional Outreach Luncheon hosted by the Sequim Guild.

Three representatives from Seattle Children’s Hospital were there to update the guilds on what is happening at Seattle Children’s in cancer research, patient and family needs and uncompensated care usage. A local family, Kaitlyn Sallee with daughter Addison Money and grandmother Kristie Money, told of their experiences at Seattle Children’s with critical medical care for Addison, and shared their appreciation for the staff and services at the hospital.

Since 1907 when Seattle Children’s Hospital was established, it has been its policy to never turn away a child in need of medical attention regardless of the family’s ability to pay. Last year, Seattle Children’s Hospital treated 1,197 patients from Clallam and Jefferson Counties using over $2 million in uncompensated care.

The two guilds in Sequim, Sequim Guild and Trey Green Guild, continue to have activities and fundraisers throughout the year to make money for uncompensated care and research at Seattle Children’s. For more information on the guilds, visit www.sequimguild.org and www.treygreen.org.
