Reward offered for missing llama

A Joyce woman believes her missing llama may be in the Sequim region.

Sara Woodard said her three-year-old pack llama, “Melinda,” went missing two weeks ago from her pen off Dan Kelly Road.

Woodard, who owns and operates Olympak Llamas, said Melinda would never leave her fellow llamas and a smashed gate indicates she was dragged over the top after being wrestled to the ground. There was no blood or fur left behind to indicate a wild animal attack, she said.

Woodard believes the llama was stolen and sold to someone in the Sequim area. She reported the incident to the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office and has distributed fliers offering a $500 reward for information leading to the discovery of Melinda, she said.
