Clinical professor Don Downing of the University of Washington’s School of Pharmacy presents “Healthcare Delivery: How We Can Learn From India and Nicaragua,” at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 10, at The Landing Mall in Port Angeles.

Sponsored by the Port Angeles Freethinkers, the event is free but a donation is suggested.

Over the summer, Downing took more than 60 students from the University of Washington to Nicaragua and India to observe the way they handled the delivery of healthcare services. Downing said he believes the way the U.S. makes healthcare decisions needs to be improved and the experiences observed in both locations may help inform us in making those decisions.
