Volunteers recently revealed the Sequim Irrigation Festival’s logo and tagline for 2023: “128 Out The Gate.”
The logo, designed by Laura Friedkin, and tagline reveal came at a volunteer appreciation luncheon for about 60 festival volunteers hosted and sponsored by The Oasis Bar and Grill on Oct. 22.
Festival organizers say the new logo includes an irrigation headgate opening allowing the water to race through and fill the irrigation ditches.
The logo ties into the festival’s 128th year’s storyline — found online at irrigationfestival.com — and alludes to how horses racing in the sky is like water rushing forward and “Out The Gate.”
Organizers say planning for each tagline starts two years in advance with volunteers deciding on 2024’s tagline this month.
They’ll work on the logo and storyline to be finished around October before the next festival, volunteers said.
