If you didn’t guess the mystery picture on page A-1, it was the yet-to-be-painted cowcatcher of the locomotive that will be the centerpiece of the Sequim Irrigation Festival Float. The engine is a replica of one that served Sequim at the turn of the century. The first of more than a dozen parades for the Sequim Irrigation Festival royalty will be the Daffodil Parade in Tacoma on Saturday, April 10.

The float, with a railroading theme, will be rolled out to the public at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 8, at the Evergreen Farm building on North Fifth Avenue. This is the first opportunity for the royalty and the public to see the 2010 float.

The Irrigation Festival Committee meets on the first Wednesday of every month at the Mariner Café. Dinner is at 6 p.m. and the meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. The next meeting is today, April 7.
