Irrigation float gets up steam April 10

The first of more than a dozen parades for the Sequim Irrigation Festival royalty will be the Daffodil Parade in Tacoma on Saturday, April 10.

If you didn’t guess the mystery picture on page A-1, it was the yet-to-be-painted cowcatcher of the locomotive that will be the centerpiece of the Sequim Irrigation Festival Float. The engine is a replica of one that served Sequim at the turn of the century. This year’s festival theme, 115 Years of Pioneers, focuses on the railroads that once ran through town on tracks that stretched from Port Angeles to Port Townsend.    Sequim Gazette photo by Patricia Morrison Coate
