Northwest Raptor & Wildlife Center founder and executive director Jaye Moore is celebrating her 30th year as a wildlife rescuer and rehabilitator on the Olympic Peninsula.
Beginning in Clallam Bay in 1982 and moving to Sequim in 1992, Moore has rescued thousands of wild animals across Northwest Washington without ever accepting a cent in salary.
Winner of the 2011 Clallam County Community Service Award, Moore runs the Northwest Raptor & Wildlife Center in Sequim, a wildlife rehabilitation center specially permitted by the state and federal government to rescue, rehabilitate and release back into nature all species of wildlife.
The anniversary will be celebrated at the Raptor Center’s second annual Wildlife Mardi Gras fundraising party on Feb. 25 in Sequim. Tickets can be purchased online at www.NWRaptorCenter.com, by calling 457-4985 or in person at Best Friend Nutrition in Sequim or Kokopelli Bar & Grill in Port Angeles.
