Law enforcement investigates possible vehicular assault

Clallam County deputies are seeking the whereabouts of 49-year-old Todd Baker of Port Angeles after an incident Wednesday afternoon left a peninsula resident injured.

According to a Clallam County Sheriff’s Office report, deputies were called to the area of South Alder, just east of Port Angeles, shortly before 4 p.m. on Wednesday, in response to a person that had been hit by a pickup truck. Deputies found David Bauman, 49, of Port Angeles, injured. Witnesses told deputies Bauman had been in an argument with Baker.

Baker was leaving a property on Alder while Bauman was standing near a driveway. According to the report, as Baker was backing, he struck Bauman sending him to the side of the road.

Witnesses said Baker exited his truck and yelled at Bauman before leaving the area.

Bauman was treated by medics at the scene and transported to Olympic Medical Center.

His injuries were not confirmed, but deputies noted he had lacerations to his face and an injured ankle.

Baker and the vehicle have not been located.

Baker is described as being a white male, 5 feet 9 inches tall, and about 160 pounds with brown hair and green eyes.

The vehicle he was driving was a blue Ford F150, with a possible license number of B58696H.
