The League of Women Voters in Clallam and Jefferson counties have set five candidate zoom forums in July for candidates the 24th Legislative District.
League members are encouraging residents in both counties to submit questions for the district-wide state representative and senator primary forums.
The 24th Legislative District encompasses most of the Olympic Peninsula, including all of Clallam and Jefferson counties, and large portions of Grays Harbor County.
Candidate forums for the Aug. 6 Primary Election will take place on Zoom on the following dates:
• 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 2: Candidates for PUD Commissioner District 3 (West End). Confirmed participants are Phyllis Bernard, Kenneth Reandeau and Ken Simpson. (Zoom link: us06web.zoom.us/j/84529405640; meeting ID 845 2940 5640; submit questions to info@lwvcla.org by noon on June 30.)
• 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 9: Candidates for State Representative, Position 1. Confirmed participants are Matthew (Matt) Roberson, Adam Bernbaum, Eric Pickens and Nate Tyler; as of June 12, JR Steifel had not responded. Candidate questions
“Concise, unbiased questions directly related to the job, its policies, and the leadership skills required will be given priority, and similar questions will be combined,” league members said.
“We strive to ensure that questions reflect a wide range of concerns from our district’s multiple constituencies, and our questions are never released to any candidates in advance of the forums.”

The forum will also be recorded and linked on the websites of both Clallam and Jefferson Leagues of Women Voters, and posted between 42-72 hours after each forum.
