Sequim’s Irrigation party hits its stride in second weekend

 

The second weekend of the 118th Sequim Irrigation Festival, May 9-12, is jam-packed with events. Here’s the rundown:

• Carnival, 5-9 p.m. Thursday, 5-11 p.m. Friday, noon-9 p.m. Saturday, noon-6 p.m. Sunday, Sequim High School green field on Fir Street

• Crazy Daze Breakfast, 7 a.m. Friday, Sunland Golf & Country Club hall, 109 Fairway Drive

• Historical Walking Tour, 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Friday, Museum & Arts Center, 175 W. Cedar St.

• Logging Show, Truck and Tractor Pull, 5-10 p.m. Friday, 9:30 p.m. Friday,  fireworks display, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Blake Avenue lot: Includes a truck and tractor pull, lawnmower races, early time gas engine display, food, arts and crafts.

• Strongman Showdown, 6-8 p.m. Friday, Blake Avenue lot, events include axle lift, arm over arm truck pull, log press, tire flip, stone stack, dead lift and car lift.

• Boys & Girls Club, 22nd Annual Golf Tournament, 4-Person Scramble, 1:30 p.m. Friday, at The Cedars at Dungeness

• Loggers Breakfast, 6-11 a.m. Saturday, Guy Cole Convention Center, Carrie Blake Park, sponsored by the Lions Club.

• Kids Parade, 9:30 a.m. Saturday lineup, 9:45 a.m. judging Walgreens parking lot, 10 a.m. parade for children 12 years and younger with prizes.

• Dungeness River Fun Run, 10:20-11 a.m. Saturday, start/finish at JC Penney parking lot, Washington Street at Seventh Avenue.

• Car Cruzz, 10:55-11:45 a.m. Saturday. Classic vehicles from around the area parade through downtown Sequim.

• 118th Irrigation Festival Grand Parade, noon Saturday,

Begins near KeyBank on Dunlap Avenue, ends at Seventh Avenue

• Car Show n’ Shine, noon-5 p.m. Saturday, Walmart parking lot, 1110 W. Washington St. Classic vehicles compete for prizes.
