Light Lunch program ends this week

After 13 years in operation, Light Lunch will close its doors at the end of May. This ecumenical ministry to feed those in need was hosted by St. Luke’s Episcopal Church with additional volunteers and financial support from Dungeness Community Church, Dungeness Valley Lutheran Church, Faith Lutheran Church, Sequim Community Church and Trinity United Methodist Church. These willing volunteers formed teams, cooked and served a hot meal every Saturday plus a brown bag for Sunday, providing 2,313 hot meals and 1,337 brown bags in 2016.

Over the years, Light Lunch evolved to include coats, clothing, socks and bus tickets as well as meals.

Hot meals will be served from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on May 27 as usual.
