Man airlifted after River Road rollover wreck

A 21-year-old Port Angeles resident is in critical condition as of Friday, July 22, following a rollover wreck in Sequim a week prior.

Chief criminal deputy Brian King said that Aminjan Mindubaev, 21 of Port Angeles was traveling southbound on River Road at 4 p.m. July 15, when his 1988 Chevy S10 pickup rolled while navigating a slight left turn on the 2500 block of the road.

The man’s truck crossed the northbound lane and went into the ditch and was ejected about 25 feet through the windshield, King reported.

He wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and the truck rolled at least one time, King said, with investigators continuing to evaluate the scene.

No other vehicles were involved in the collision.

The man was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center from the Jamestown Family Health Clinic helipad and remains in critical condition as of July 18.

Investigators believe speed and alcohol were factors as there were open alcohol containers at the scene, King said.

King said the man was driving with a suspended license.
