On Saturday, Sept. 12, Marilyn Stewart will talk with the community about growing hydrangeas on the Olympic Peninsula. The class will be at 10 a.m. at the Master Gardener’s Woodcock Demonstration Garden, 2711 Woodcock Road. The presentation is free and open to the public.
Stewart has more than 14 years of experience growing hydrangeas in her home perennial garden. She will talk about the differences between hydrangea species, highlight some of the newer selections and discuss factors to consider when choosing a hydrangea for your garden.
Stewart also will review how to best maintain hydrangeas in the garden so their beauty can be enjoyed year after year.
Stewart has been a Master Gardener since 2003. She is the plant clinic coordinator at Woodcock Garden and also is a member of the education committee. She received the Golden Trowel Award in 2012 for her many contributions to the Master Gardener Program.
Reasonable accommodations will be made for persons with disabilities and special needs who contact Lorrie Hamilton at lhamilton@co.clallam.wa.us or 565-2679 at least two weeks prior to the event.
