Miata club drives donation

Members of the Olympic Peninsula Chapter of Club Miata filled their sporty cars on Thursday, Dec. 8, to make a sizable donation to the Sequim Food Bank, 144 W. Alder St. Vicki Burr-Chellin, coordinator of the club, said members of the club used to hold an annual white elephant gift exchange but decided to donate food instead. Larry and Darlene McCaffrey coordinated the food drive. The club, in operation for three years, features 45 members from Silverdale to Forks with 29 cars.The Sequim Food Bank holds its Christmas turkey basket giveaway from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday-Saturday, Dec. 16-17, and noon-4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19.
