Seven lively octogenarians, who have been friends since early grade school in Sequim, met Aug. 5 at the Paradise Restaurant in Sequim as they do every three months or so.

The women all graduated from Sequim High School with the 47-member Class of 1947. They remember that “everybody knew everybody,” a passenger train that went by the Sequim Avenue/Washington Street exit, one stop light in town, Nelson’s “enormous” Olympic splits, picking and packing peas for $2 a week and a population of 602 during their high school years.

They include Dorothy Daniels Ludke, 84; Mary Boettcher Wagaman, 84; Eutallah Smith Johnson, 85; Caroline Cays Baumunk, 85; Mabel Heine Sorensen, 85; andLois Reposa Myren, 85; and Mary Dryke Pogue, 85.

All except Johnson still live in Sequim.
