Madelynn Potts, a senior at Sequim High School, was recently recognized as the Sequim Sunrise Rotary’s October student of the month.
Teacher Jim Heintz said he thinks Potts has a successful career ahead of her as a photographer, as she has done some senior portraits for other students at the high school.
Potts is very involved as the captain of the varsity SHS volleyball team and enjoys basketball as well.
After graduation, she plans on attending a two-year college either Whatcom Community or Olympic College, and then onto a four-year college.
She is leaning towards forensic psychology for a career.
Potts has lived in Sequim her whole life and has a sister, Sophia Nelson, in sixth grade. Her mother is Leanne Potts. Joining Potts at a Rotary meeting to accept her award was her grandfather, Greg Potts, and Heintz.
