On Sept. 25, Sequim Sunrise Rotary president Jerry Sinn presented Jan Tatom and Mark Connelly, from the Sequim Pickleball Club, with a check for $500.
With pickleball becoming one of the fastest growing sports in the country, the Sequim Pickleball Club is leading the way to bring the sport to Sequim.
Their goal is to build eight tournament quality courts on land provided by the city in Carrie Blake Park.
The estimated cost of construction is $216,000. To date their fundraising efforts has raised over $50,000 with another $51,000 budgeted by the city.
