Milestone: Womanfest’s scholarship winners

The final recipients of the Womanfest Clara Carlson Scholarships are Amy McIntyre, Mariah Trineen Doty and Alicia Dawn Potswald. Each of the recipients will receive a $500 scholarship to further her education.

The final recipients of the Womanfest Clara Carlson Scholarships are Amy McIntyre, Mariah Trineen Doty and Alicia Dawn Potswald. Each of the recipients will receive a $500 scholarship to further her education.

Womanfest has been a local nonprofit for more than 30 years and provides financial support to a variety of women-centered projects and directly supports women’s educational goals through the annual scholarship program.

McIntyre, of Port Angeles, is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in integrated social sciences at the University of Washington.

Doty attended Peninsula College and earned the prerequisites for the medical laboratory program at UW, which she will begin in the fall.

Potswald is a student at the Port Townsend School of Massage and teaches yoga.

Carlson was a longtime advocate for women, spending her career as a nurse. The annual Womanfest Fall Retreat will be at Camp David Jr. from Sept. 25-27.
