Olympic National Forest is soliciting proposals for Title II projects to be implemented in 2009 and 2010.
Title II projects must provide a direct or indirect benefit to resources on national forest lands.
Past projects have included watershed restoration, stream stabilization, invasive plant treatments and road and infrastructure maintenance.
Funding is through the Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act that provides payments to counties to compensate for lost tax income associated with federal land within their boundaries.
Specific provisions for qualifying projects along with project submission forms are available on Olympic National Forest’s Web site, www.fs.fed.us/r6/olympic; follow the link for Advisory Committees.
Completed forms can be submitted electronically to Donna Nemeth dnemeth@fs.fed.us, or Bill Shelmerdine bshelmerdine@fs.fed.us. by April 30.
For further information, call Donna Nemeth at 360-956-2274, or Bill Shelmerdine at 360-956-2282.
