New veterans center to open at Peninsula College

Student veterans at Peninsula College will have a new space to study, relax, get help and share stories when the new Veterans Center opens this week.

The new veterans center is located on the east end of the Pirate Union Building on the main campus at 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles. PC officials say the space was “thoughtfully created – from wall color to furnishings – with the intent of creating a sense of calm and camaraderie for vets on campus.”

The event starts at 1 p.m. with a rifle exhibition duel by Port Angeles High School’s NJROTC program, followed by a few words from Veteran Navigator Shae Pozarzycki and PC President Dr. Luke Robins during the ribbon cutting ceremony.

From 3-4 p.m. in room in J-47, Daniel Overton, head of the Veteran Administration’s Traumatic Brain Injury Department, will give an educational presentation to faculty and staff.
